Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Creek Resort 2269 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
