Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 4th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
