Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Villas D314 - Ocean View! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
