Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean front! sleeps 6! updated! central location! pools! hot tubs! gym! 4th fl.! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
