How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Front Suite with a Beautiful View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
