Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Campground Handicap Accessible Home With Huge Porches 4 Bed 3 Bath has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
