Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Cottage Quiet Street, Shady Lot, 5000 Section Sleeps 7 has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
