Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Cottage Quiet Street, Shady Lot, New HVAC 5000 Section Sleeps 7 has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
