Rental property booking tips:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
