Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • First, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
