Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Spacious oceanfront condo located on Shore Drive + Free Attraction Tickets! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
