Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2br 2 ba Beach house at Ocean Lakes, Steps from the Ocean, Golf Cart Included. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
