Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes Site 1650 - 3 bedrooms \/ 2 baths has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
