Our top Rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Reef Resort Unit 408 - Oceanfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
