Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Splendid Condo with Fully Equipped Kitchen A236 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
