Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. A236 at The Myrtle Beach Resort Splendid Condo with Fully Equipped Kitchen has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
