Myrtle Beach rental home tips:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean View- 8th Floor-Two Kings & Two Queens + 3 Baths! Great Rates! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
