Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 2 Story, 3 BdRm with loft - 2B Gloucester Terrace has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
