How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cozy Beach Cottage, Steps to Ocean and Shops has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
