Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront views pool sleeps eight steps to the beach daily rentals welcome has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
