Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront! - All New! Ultra Modern Farmhouse Chic at the Beach! Just Listed! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
