Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental:
- To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Serenity by the Sea 3BR Oceanfront Condo 7th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
