Vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group choose trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront - Million Dollar View with Stunning Updates!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
