Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxury Oceanfront 3 Bedroom \/ 3 Bath available by Luxury Beach Rentals! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
