Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite-Stunning Views! Perfect for 4-6 guests! Landmark 1533 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
