Booking the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Lux High-End Haven Oceanfront Suite! Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
