How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
