Vacation rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 2 BR \/ Beautiful View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
