Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 2 BR \/ Beautiful View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
