Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views! Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
