How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View Home 6 bed 3baths near boardwalk with private garage, Family Fun King has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
