Tips to get the very best rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by having your group choose date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View Home 6 bed 3baths near boardwalk with private garage, Family Fun King has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
