Booking the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 Bedroom plus convertible bed, 2 Bath, Pet Friendly, Sleeps 9 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips to have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
