Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sand Dunes Spectacular Ocean View Studio Unit on 9th floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
