Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Studio with Panoramic Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
