Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanview- has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
