Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanview- has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
