Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the best value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Condo Short Walk to the Beach at Boardwalk Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
