Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Condo Short Walk to the Beach at Boardwalk Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
