Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. ON The Beach 2 bed\/ 2 bath 1st Floor Condo Only Steps To The Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
