Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group agree to dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Condo. Paradise is waiting for you! Rentals still available. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
