Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxury\/Prime Location\/Small Dogs OK! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
