Rental property booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the bestvacation home:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 1 bdrm condo 7th flr Boardwalk Resort w\/ pools, hot tubs, lazy river has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
