Our top Rental home booking tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Patricia Grand 202 - Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
