Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:

- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.

- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
