Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Perfect Oceanfront Studio Escape @Ocean Reef has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
