Vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. T1216: Coastal Comfort with Stunning Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
