Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Whatever It Takes has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
