How to book the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. MH61 Down By The Sea 4 Bedrooms\/2Bathrooms has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
