Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Your Home Away from Home at the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
