Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Your Home Away from Home at the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
