Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and choosing yourrental home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Private home close to beach, pool, tennis, golf, basketball, shopping & food ???? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
