Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Quiet Beach Retreat with Golf Views! <2mi to Beach + Pool, WiFi & Early Check In has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
