Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. RARE find Golf Course view Condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
