Vacation rental booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Lakefront 2 level Condo- Beach, Golf, Pools, Tennis, Barefoot Landing & more! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
