Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Remodeled Family Friendly Condo - Steps away from the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Tips for a great stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
