Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. River Oaks 50B - Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
