Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Salty Air Retreat by the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
